ZeroGPT Alternative Priced in INR
ZeroGPT is a free, no-frills checker that most people meet through a search result. It charges in US dollars and limits each detection by characters. For readers in India who want rupees and UPI, or bigger free uploads, ProofAI is the obvious thing to try next to it.

What ZeroGPT does well
Judging by its own pages, these are the reasons people stay with it:
- It says it supports all languages. There is no list to check, but it makes the claim, which ProofAI cannot yet make.
- A separate AI video detector. ProofAI’s video analysis is still marked coming soon.
- A stated default on privacy. It says it does not publish, save or sell user text by default, with no-retention modes for API and enterprise customers, and that its servers are in Germany.
- An easy pay-as-you-go API. You top up a balance instead of picking a subscription.
Where the gap shows for an Indian user
Payment is the first one. ZeroGPT lists dollar prices and issues invoices in dollars or euros, while ProofAI plans are in rupees through Cashfree with cards or UPI. File size is the second: a 1 MB free cap is tight for a thesis chapter exported to PDF, whereas ProofAI takes PDF, DOCX, DOC and TXT up to 25 MB on every plan. And because ProofAI counts checks per day, an eight-page essay uses one check, the same as a paragraph. ZeroGPT’s limit is in characters per detection.
Scanned PDFs are a problem for both
ZeroGPT’s FAQ tells users to run OCR first on image-based PDFs, and the same applies to ProofAI: a scan without selectable text has nothing to analyse. Run OCR, or paste the text into the AI text detector.
Where your text goes
| ZeroGPT (as stated) | ProofAI (as stated) | |
|---|---|---|
| Stored or sold | Not published, saved or sold by default | Text and files not saved |
| Sent onward | Input used only to produce your result | Sent to AI model providers named in the privacy policy |
| Record kept | Not described on its FAQ | Date, type and score of each check, not the text |
| Hosting | Germany | See the privacy policy |
If you handle sensitive documents, read both policies in full.
About accuracy numbers
ZeroGPT advertises high accuracy measured on its own data, and we have not run it on any test set of ours, so we make no comparison. What ProofAI itself has published, with its method, is on the accuracy page.
