Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about ProofAI, AI detection, the Readability Rewriter, privacy, API usage, and accuracy.

ProofAI is designed for individuals, developers, businesses, educational institutions, media organizations, and platforms that need to verify whether content is AI-generated or human-written.
ProofAI analyzes patterns commonly produced by modern generative AI systems such as large language models and generative media tools. It evaluates linguistic, structural, and behavioral patterns within the content.
Images, yes: ProofAI supports detection for text, documents and images today. AI video detection is coming soon and is not available yet. The platform analyzes patterns that indicate whether content may have been generated by AI tools.
Most detection results are generated within a few seconds. Processing time may vary depending on file size, content type, and server load.
If you reach your plan's usage limit, you can either wait for the next billing cycle or upgrade your plan to continue using the platform.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Changes usually apply from the next billing cycle.
Yes. ProofAI offers enterprise solutions including higher API limits, dedicated infrastructure, custom integrations, and priority support.
Yes. ProofAI supports domain-based API restrictions to ensure that your API keys can only be used from authorized domains.
You can regenerate or revoke your API key at any time from the dashboard. Once regenerated, the previous key becomes invalid immediately.
Yes. ProofAI provides detailed API documentation along with SDKs and integration guides to help developers implement the platform quickly.
Yes. Developers can integrate ProofAI using APIs to automatically check content authenticity within their own applications, websites, or internal systems.
ProofAI does not save the text or files you submit. To analyse them we send them to the AI model providers listed in our privacy policy. We keep a record of each check (date, type, score and source such as API or website), not the content, for usage limits, billing and your history.
ProofAI supports common online payment methods such as credit cards and other supported digital payment providers depending on the region.
Yes. Annual subscriptions usually offer discounted pricing compared to monthly plans.
Users can contact ProofAI support through the Contact page, support email, or by creating a support ticket directly from the dashboard.
Teams may use a shared account depending on their plan. Enterprise plans may include advanced team management and access control features.
Yes. ProofAI continuously updates and improves its detection models to adapt to evolving AI technologies and new generative systems.
ProofAI can assist educators and institutions in identifying potential AI-generated content, but results should always be reviewed alongside human evaluation.
Bulk detection features may be available for advanced or enterprise plans, allowing users to analyze large amounts of content efficiently.
Registered users can view their API usage, request counts, and subscription details directly from the Usage History page in the dashboard.
ProofAI uses multi-layer linguistic analysis and machine learning models to provide high-accuracy detection. While no tool is 100% perfect, our models are trained on billions of parameters to minimize false positives and provide high-confidence scores.
The Readability Rewriter (formerly the AI humanizer) rewrites stiff or unclear text for clarity and tone — useful for drafts and for non-native English writers. ProofAI's detector is not tuned to its output, and we make no claim about how any detector will score rewritten text.
Check the rules first. Using it to disguise AI writing in graded or assessed work may break the rules of your school or employer. Using it to make your own writing clearer is usually fine — if unsure, ask and say which tools you used.
Yes. ProofAI is designed to detect AI patterns across multiple major languages. Our models analyze structural and semantic features that are common across different linguistic contexts.
Absolutely. Many content creators use ProofAI to ensure their articles and blog posts maintain a human-like quality, which is often favored by search engine algorithms for better ranking.
We are constantly expanding our ecosystem. Currently, ProofAI is accessible through our web platform and robust APIs. Check our roadmap for upcoming browser extension releases.
Ensure your API key is active and your request origin matches the whitelisted domains in your dashboard. Detailed error codes and troubleshooting steps are available in our technical documentation.
The Free plan is ideal for individual testing with limited daily requests. Pro and Enterprise plans offer significantly higher limits, API access, advanced detection models, and priority support.
Yes. Our advanced models look beyond simple word matches. They analyze deep structural patterns and 'burstiness' that remain even after AI content has been lightly paraphrased.
Yes, to analyse it. Text and images are sent to AI model providers (such as Groq, Cerebras, Google and Hugging Face) that run the models behind ProofAI; the full list, what each receives and where, is in our privacy policy. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers, and ProofAI does not use your content to train its own models.
AI detection is probabilistic, so a score is not proof. Don't use it alone for academic or hiring decisions — look at drafts, version history and the writer's usual style, and talk to the writer. Use the 'Think this is wrong?' button under the result to tell us; we review these reports to improve ProofAI.
